Lewis Gopher
GATHER Design Team

Lewis Gopher is a member of the Seminole Tribe of Florida and currently a senior studying business management at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). Lewis was the student leader for a year-long civic engagement pilot program in collaboration with FGCU and MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning leading a cohort of 12 students focused on understanding and applying tools of engagement, the importance of historical context and curriculum design based on the tools of engagement. Lewis is the President of a student organization called SIS which organizes collaborative effort and events to support the Parramore Community of Orlando through the New Image Youth Center. During the past year, Lewis has been active in all indigenous related issues, supporting organizations like UofO and DS4SI and trying to strengthen his own. In the summer of 2019, Lewis Gopher attended the X-Culture Global Symposium in Calgary, Alberta and received recognition for the best 5-year strategic business plan for Calgary International Airport.
