Mary Long is the founder and president of Sacred Ground Minstries Violence Prevention Organization which she launched on March  11, 2012, one day before her only child was killed. Mary’s strong Christian faith has fueled her passion for social change which she has channeled into building relationships with activists, pastors, community organizations and elected officials to end gun violence. Since 2012, Mary has served as a volunteer, mentor, and tutoring coordinator at Hirsch High School where she partners with community stakeholders to organize and host student workshops, fundraisers, town halls, restorative justice circle keeper and sponsors The Eric Williams Determining Spirit Scholarship Award awarded to high school seniors.
